Frequently Asked Questions
The BolderNow Network is a community (virtual for now) of Boomers who find benefit in collaborating with other like-minded people to extend our vitality and healthy years. It’s an experimental group in which we challenge the status quo about aging and wellness.
Boomers today are on the cusp of a sea change in health and well being. The possibilities of regenerating physically, mentally and emotionally have never been greater. And while there are many websites out there that help people who want to get healthier and more fit, few, if any, focus on the Boomer generation: people who will be 57-75 years of age in 2021.
We aim to show that it’s never too late (or too soon) to make positive life changes that will Make Your Bonus Years Your Best!
Each of us has a unique reason for wanting to have a “BolderNow”. Some people want to accomplish a life goal still unfulfilled. Others want to be physically stronger and healthier in order to keep pace with younger friends and grandchildren.
The BolderNow Network attracts people who are enthusiastic about interacting with others. They love to learn, love to inspire, and be inspired. This is especially important as we prepare for the post-COVID world — and the opportunity to meet new people face-to-face, without a mask!
The BolderNow Network is for you if you:
- Enjoy discovering new ideas and insights
- Are a self-starter
- Like learning from others and creating personal strategies
- Understand that we transform incrementally. It is a day by day, month by month journey to wellness and our bonus years
- Are motivated by the desire to change
- Look forward to the benefits and breakthroughs that may occur the longer you live — which could help you live even longer!
The BolderNow Network may not be for you if you:
- Are simply seeking a new hobby
- Aren’t motivated to make life changes
- Like working alone; dislike collaborating
- Tend to pre-judge new information
- Are skeptical that it’s possible to change behaviors and outcomes in your 60s, 70s, and beyond.
There is no cost in dollars; the “fee” is your time, energy, and willingness to become an active member of our community, collaborating with others to discover how to make our Bonus Years the healthiest and best of our lives.
Absolutely not! The BolderNow Network is an information-based website, here as a resource to serve you on your wellness journey. Down the road, we intend to curate and perhaps even create aligned products, but there will never be any purchase requirement.
I (Founder Dennis Bozzi) am eager to share the specific strategies that have worked for me. I’m equally excited to discover what works for you. Together, we can develop a framework of strategies that we can help each other implement to enhance our well being as we age.
I was overweight, on the verge of Type II diabetes, with asthma and “bad knees”.
I found that food — knowing what, when, and how much to eat — is by far the most important determinant of creating and retaining healthy bonus years. Coupled with my practice of intermittent fasting, I have reset my body. I created a diverse exercise regimen, and have been exploring various supplements that seem to help with my energy and stamina. Add to this quality sleep, and I was on my way.
The heart of my success was/is a burning desire to keep learning, and to help others more than I did earlier in my life. I changed my eating and exercise habits based on evidenced-backed research — and felt better almost immediately.
If you are open and willing to make the changes your body and mind are asking for, you will likely see improvements as well!*
As you make changes that improve your physical health, it’s likely you will start to feel better mentally and emotionally as well. Our mental and emotional health is tied to our physical health — our gut is even referred to as our “second brain” — so as we get physically healthier, our minds and emotions become clearer, too.
Not at all. I am only describing what has worked for me. Changing my eating and sleeping behaviors has been transformative, and from this beginning, I have researched and put into practice other varied strategies for more quality time.
My goal is to discover and support you in finding and implementing the strategies that will work best for you.
Commitment is what matters. Gradual change is the key: learning how making a few small changes to your diet, exercise, sleep, personal care choices, etc., can begin to create a cascade of positivity in your life and health.
For example: if you’re someone who loves pancakes on the weekend, you can discover how to choose healthier pancake ingredients, along with a healthier syrup or other garnish. The end result can still be delicious — and much better for your body.
For someone else, it might be changing their deodorant to one that doesn’t contain chemical ingredients.
The key is to create a program that works for you: educating yourself about various options, and choosing what will work best for your life.
