About

Like you, I have so much more that I want to experience.

Hello, my name is Dennis and there is so much more that I want to accomplish as I enter my 70s I finally have the wisdom, experience and passion to give back and make good to a world that has been good to me. I know I can be an inspiration to others.

I cannot be the only individual in their later years that feels this way. I discarded and lost dreams along the way. Now that I have learned from my mistakes and time wasting, can I capture enough time to make these dreams come true and take pleasure in my successes?

My wake-up call

My own story serves as a touchstone for what is possible. I was 90 pounds overweight, on the verge of “acquiring “ type II diabetes, my congenital asthma continued to flare up and my knees were giving out. On many levels, I knew I had to take control and help my body heal and regenerate if I was ever to get even close to those years. However, I did not yet have a sense of urgency. Partly, I thought of all of this as part of the inevitable decline into old age. Also, I knew that my physician was ready to unleash a quiver of pills into me, slowing the inevitable so that I would not notice my decline so distinctly. I knew this would not fix anything but merely allow me to keep procrastinating.

Then one morning, I went off to the grocery store to purchase a 30-pound frozen turkey. (This should have been a warning in itself—it was not a holiday!) After getting it into the car, I struggled, huffing and puffing to get into the kitchen just a short walk from the driveway.

Then it came to me. I was carrying at least two 30-pound turkeys around with me all the time! Starting in the Fall of 2019, after many recent attempts, I stopped “cold turkey”.

My new beginning

From that point forward, I altered my eating and exercise habits, investigating evidenced-based research on the entire range of wellness and anti-aging studies. I felt better almost immediately. My body was signaling gratitude for the changes I was making at a fast pace.

Then, COVID-19 hit and my wellness regimen took on an unexpected sense of urgency. It was immediately obvious that a good diet, packed with ancestral food, nutrients and important supplements was now a matter of life or death for a nearly 70-year-old man.

Within the next year I lost over 80 pounds, was taken off my BP and asthma medications, and reversed my journey to type II diabetes. My general inflammation has been significantly reduced. It was now possible to begin walking, grounding and resistance training anew after many years.

The start of The BolderNow Network

Despite the current pandemic, there’s never been a better time to be alive. I started this venture because, for the first time ever, “regular” people can participate in strategies to extend their good years and remain productive, happy and actually gain the time to fulfill some lingering ambitions and dreams.

The BolderNow Network is becoming a practical  community of those of us over 60 who are excited about what life can offer us now.  We will help  each other now through virtual means and later, face to face, to buttress our determination to self heal, rejuvenate and enjoy our bonus years.
